Senior RF Design Engineer

Description

This individual will report directly to the Head of Engineering and will be responsible for the design and analysis of RF Systems and sub-assemblies. This individual will be expected to take a project from concept to completion while providing written specifications, analyzing system performance, designing for regulatory compliance (FCC and MSHA regulations), interfacing with other engineering team members, aiding in the documentation for manufacturing processes, constructing prototype models and conducting RF sub-assembly and system design verification testing. This individual will also be responsible for tracking project schedules to insure timely completion as well as present periodic progress reports to management.

Qulifications

  • A Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field. 5+ years experience designing wireless radios and/or high frequency hardware a plus
  • Candidate should know the crucial performance characteristics of passive and active RF components such as Amplifiers, Oscillators, Attenuators, Mixers and Filters
  • A working understanding and knowledge of S-parameters, Gain budget analysis, PLL synthesizers and Filtering are required.
  • Experience with UHF, VHF and 900Mhz designs preferred
  • Knowledge and/or working experience will cellular telephone radio technologies such as GSM, CDMA, etc. is a plus
  • Experience with RF modeling tools like ADS a plus
  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB Design Software required
  • Experience laying out PCB designs for EMC Compliance a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and practices a plus
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel and Project Software
  • Must have great communications skills, be dependable, positive, assertive, and a team player with a strong desire to succeed
