Model 1968 / 1969
Leaky Feeder Balancers
The Model 1968 and 1969 Leaky Feeder Balancers are designed to aid in system balancing and troubleshooting. The 1968 is configured for VHF systems and the 1969 for UHF. A head end unit is connected to the leaky feeder rack which listens for the signal from a handheld unit. The user connects the handheld tuner to the first Minecom Gen II amplifier in the system via the on board test ports and sets the reference point. The tuner transmits a signal back to the head end unit and displays the signal strength of the received signal therefore allowing the user to set both the downlink and uplink switches at the same time. The user then connects the tuner to each GEN II amplifier in the system and adjusts the gain switches until the displayed values are at the desired levels.
