Model 230

Tilt Switch

The Model 230 Tilt Switch is designed to detect material spillage or gob off at the conveyor belt transfer points and remove power from the dumping conveyor to prevent further spillage and conveyor system damage. The  Model  230 normally closed Tilt Switch ships ready to use and the Model 230A normally open package includes a Model 230 with separate contact relay.  The solid state sealed switch is complemented by a 500 lb. test chain which makes mounting a snap. The 1/8 in. thick stainless steel tube with rubber bumper makes this unit the most durable on the market.  Units are also available in a lighter PVC casing. An optional timer relay can be purchased to eliminate any nuisance tripping problems you may have.

When applying the Tilt Switch to the detection of material spill conditions, proper selection of  the installation site is critical for satisfactory operation. Although each installation will require its own  unique mounting,  in general, the Tilt Switch should be positioned to make contact with the spilled material  before  excessive  amounts   have been dumped on the ground. Suggested  installation  is to hang the sensor from the conveyor structure a  few  feet behind the last roller.  Material not carried away by the receiving belt  will be pulled under the loading conveyors end roller and be detected by the switch.
