Model 3200
Smart Remotes
The Model 3200 series Smart Remotes are battery backup equipped wireless environmental gas monitors capable of monitoring ambient gas concentrations. Model 3200 series units are capable of transmitting over a variety of wireless channels, including Bluetooth, UHF, and VHF frequencies. Current Leaky Feeder and wireless node type communication systems benefit tremendously from this wireless transmission because the wireless link frees the unit from being located near or directly connected to a wired communications line. These units were designed to eliminate the need for additional long wire runs to be installed and to integrate seamlessly with existing wireless systems.
All Model 3200 models feature the same benefits as the Model 3000 series wired units, such as plug-in communications cards, 24 volt alarm drivers, digital inputs, line voltage monitoring, and temperature sensors. Additional benefits of the 3200 series include the ability to monitor the battery voltage and current, connect and disconnect the battery remotely, and a low battery voltage disconnect (to maintain battery health). These gas monitors have a minimum 48 hour backup standby time while operating within intrinsic safety limits and are able to handle all the charge management of the lead acid battery contained in each unit. In addition, Model 3200 gas monitors are supplied in a rugged water/dust resistant case with sealable wire entries and mounting tabs. Gas monitoring options include carbon monoxide, methane, oxygen, and others. Expired gas sensors can be easily replaced, giving the unit a long lifespan.
These units have a variety of features that make them powerful and easy to use. For instance, an internal embedded controller provides digital calibration functionality that eliminates the need for analog trimming. Alarm and warning set points, alarm delay time and the ability to set a user pass code are a few of the system parameters that can be configured directly through the keypad. This eliminates unnecessary opening of the enclosure to configure the unit after the initial installation. Even calibration can be completed without opening the unit.
While capable of operating as a stand alone device, the Smart Remote is designed to work with a Pyott-Boone master control station (MCS) to continually report the concentration of measurable gases. Conditions such as alarm latch set, warning latch set, test switch active, calibration procedure active, temperature, digital inputs, voltage, sensor disconnected, and battery information are reported to the MCS. Alarms may be activated or reset from the MCS for testing and control purposes.
