SpeedGuard II Slip/Sequence Control

Operation of the Model 405A/406A or 407 SpeedGuard II Slip/Sequence Control is accomplished by  sensors detecting targets as they pass the sensor head.  The sensors send continuous  signals to the control unit indicating the speed of each belt.   A shut-down relay operates as the number of targets sensed reaches the level set by the cut-off adjustment. The targets are added to idler rollers that are  in constant  contact  with  each belt.  Sensor #1 and Sensor #2 controls are located  on the p.c. board and are used to adjust the control unit circuitry  to match the speed of each belt individually.  Thus, if the main belt stops,  for any reason, the signal from the sensor will no longer match that adjustment and the feeder  belt  will be shut down to prevent gob-up.  If  the  feeder  belt begins to slip, its signal will change causing it to be shut down, preventing damage to its belt.

The  Model  405A, uses two sensors to  monitor  the status of the main belt and the feeder belt.  The sequence control shuts  down the  feeder  belt whenever the main belt is not running at its  normal  speed.  The  slippage control shuts down the feeder belt if for some reason it  should drop below its normal running speed indicating possible slippage or gob-up.

The Model 407 Mini Slip uses a single sensor to monitor the status of a main belt or a feeder belt.  The Model 407 control unit was designed to mount inside the belt start-up box.

CONTROL SWITCHING 405A only  relay in fail-safe mode.  Contacts rated at 110 or 220 VAC or 25V  DC, 2  amp with 3 amp surge.  Relay contacts are field changeable for normally closed or normally open operation.  Spare set of contacts are built in for remote monitoring.
