Model PD78

Point Level Detection

The PD78 easily replaces mechanical sensors such as tilt switches and rotary paddle devices. It uses solid state electronics thus requiring less maintenance then other  indicators. The sensor probe is stainless steel to prevent rust and corrosion and is shielded from falling debris by a steel bell. A single wire is run through the customers 1" conduit to the electronic sensor board which is mounted outside of the storage bin in the provided 1" conduit body. The board controls the probe sensitivity with a potentiometer. The customer then runs two wires from the sensor board to either a light bulb, the relay box (PD78R, RF, & RFC  models), or a PLC / Computer monitoring system. The relay box contains a relay coil with normally open and normally closed contacts for connection of either 110VAC, or DC devices. The relay box allows devices with a load greater then 3 amps to be controlled, such as the starter of a conveyor, fill system, and/or warning devices.

The PD78F, RF & RFC units come with a 5" x 5" flange for installation in the side of a bin. This is most commonly used for low level indications rather than hanging conduit inside of the silo from top to bottom.
